Updates
To keep the program updated, it is necessary to follow the ‘Web Updates’ procedure
in the main menu of the program.
The update procedure for Disk Benchmark consents you to repair any possible errors
found in the program and/or permits you to add new functions to improve the performance
of the software. This procedure also updates the collation database, meaning that
characteristics and results from previous tests are traced and updated. During this
phase, the updating software, receives the updated database and sends the information
present in the current visible category in the graph to the Estesoft Web site.
They are then catalogued, elaborated and merged into the shared, existent on-line
database with the intention of developing, supplementing and improving the reliability
and productivity of future use.
We advise that you update the software before testing any new hardware. If you do
not wish to send information on the tests carried out by yourself, it is sufficient
to execute the update and leave the graph blank (use the command ‘Show/hide’).
In order to complete this operation successfully, you will need to be connected
to internet. In addition, if you have a firewall program installed, it is necessary
to open the 8833 communication port.
Purchasing the Demo Version
The Demo Version is equipped with the same functions as the final version, but it
expires after 30 days and will not function after this time. After the trial period
is up, and you wish to continue using the software, you can purchase the final version
through our
online store.
Once you have purchased the program, you will need to activate it via internet using
the procedure below.
Activation Procedure (after purchase)
This procedure is fundamental to the functioning of the software. If activation
is not successfully carried out, the software will only function for thirty days.
To complete the activation procedure, it is necessary to install the software on
the intended computer, making sure that the computer is connected to the internet,
use the ‘purchase and activate’ command, choose ‘activate’ and follow the on-screen
instructions. You will be asked to supply your customer number and the indicated
name for the license. At the end of the procedure the software will be permanently
operational.
Change of Licence
If, during the activation procedure (described in the previous paragraph),
you are asked to change licences, this means that you have reached the maximum number
of activated software (same as the amount of licences purchased). Therefore, in
order to activate the software on your computer, it is necessary to de-activate
an existing licence.
This procedure requires you to choose a licence to de-activate so you may use the
new one on your computer.
To see which removal is appropriate, look at the descriptive names or the number
of the licences, these are visible on the licences which have already been registered
using the purchase and activate command.
Note: once a licence has been de-activated the software will not be operational
until it is newly activated again.
